LOCAL HEALTH CONVERSATIONS 2024
The Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board are conducting a series of public consultation meetings the length and breadth of North Wales over the next year or so. Communities are urged to attend the meetings where they will be given an opportunity to engage with senior members of management and Board members.
Further venues are to be arranged in due course and will be notified on the BCUHB Website

Warm Hub
The local community council has prepared a Warm Hub in the Sports Pavilion, Betws yn Rhos
from 9:00am until 12:00.

Nature Trail
Betws yn Rhos and Llanelian yn Rhos Community Council are considering preparing a Nature Trail in the locality to create and to re-kindle interest in the wild life of rural Wales. There is a project in place on behalf of the Welsh Government by Local Places for Nature to break down barriers that exclude disadvantaged communities from engaging in the world of nature. There are several public footpaths and old roads, such as the Drovers Road and the old Roman Road that go across the areas of Betws yn Rhos and Llanelian yn Rhos and the hope is to include some of these footpaths and roads in the ‘Nature Trail’. The trail would need to be accessible for all age groups and abilities. Support is being sought to start this project by anyone with a good knowledge of local history as well as a good understanding of wild life and familiar with the local public footpaths. If anyone has an interest in being involved in this project would you kindly contact the Clerk of the Community Council.
Police Warning for Caravan and Motorhome Owners
The area represented by the Community Council comprising of Betws-yn-Rhos and Llanelian-yn-Rhos stretches from Trofarth in the West almost to Abergele in the East, from the heights of Colwyn Bay in the North to Moelfre Uchaf in the South. Apart from Betws and Llanelian there are also hamlets at Dawn and Dolwen.
The area is today part of Conwy Borough District Council.
The writer Thomas Gwynn Jones, (or T. Gwynn Jones) was born in Betws, and spent his youth in Llanelian.
